What is Celebration?
Celebration is a youth rally that began in 1984 when a group of Christian men wanted to create a spiritual event to encourage young people and help them grow stronger in their faith. Since then, Celebration has continued as a yearly tradition held each fall at Kentucky Dam Village. The first Celebration was held at West Kentucky Youth Camp. Although Celebration has changed over the years, the message has remained the same: the message of Jesus is preached each year to approximately 700 teens and sponsors.

Who is in charge?
Celebration is organized by a committee of twelve Christian men who select the speakers and plan the events that take place each fall. Everyone on the committee is a member of the churches of Christ. For our group, the adults are in charge, so please listen to and follow their instructions.

When is free time?    schedule
There will be several breaks throughout the weekend, but the main free-time period will be on Saturday.

Who can attend?
Celebration is for students in 6th through 12th grade and their chaperones. We understand that younger children may attend from time to time; however, if they need a seat, we ask that you pay for them because seating is limited. The activities and lessons for the weekend are designed for teenagers.

What should I bring?
Please bring your Bible, three days’ worth of clothes, pajamas, a jacket, toiletries, and any snacks you would like. The cabin has shower supplies, but you may bring your own if you prefer. You should also bring money for pizza, concessions, and fast food meals, including Sunday. A Bible app is acceptable if you will actually use it.

If you attend school and do not want to worry about bringing your belongings with you that day, you may give them to Ashley or Josh on the Wednesday before the trip.
